Our first stop for Brunch Club was at the newest trending restaurant in the Oklahoma City Plaza District: Aurora Breakfast, Bar & Backyard.

The reservation process was a little sticky, but I blame this on the restaurant being new and still sorting out restaurant-things, like reservations.

We arrived and weren't allowed to sit until our whole party of 12 arrived. I understand rules, in fact, I am a rule follower 99% of the time, however, when 10 out of 12 people in your party are there and you'd like to get started on a Mimosa buzz, it would be nice to get seated. Also, trying to get all females to a location on time is basically asking me to do the impossible. Aurora is not a particularly large restaurant so instead of being seated at our table, out of the way of incoming traffic, we just consumed the waiting area. Silliness. We were eventually seated. Service was good, but small things were missing from orders--like an egg or fruit. Drinks were good, but then again, I've never met a mimosa I didn't like.

I'm sad to admit I didn't love the Open-Faced Lox. I'm used to really good lox, thanks to my east-coast-born-and-raised dad who introduced me to it when I was a youngster. This lox almost tasted like an imitation version. On a previous visit I had the biscuits and gravy with an egg and thought that was wonderful--I'll opt for that again next time.

The atmosphere at Aurora is spot on. Very chic and trendy. The A/C didn't seem to be working. I enjoy being warm, but I'd like to not sweat my calories while consuming them.

Would I go back? For sure. Would I do Brunch Club there again? Maybe after it becomes more settled.

LET'S TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL!
