I hate to go around picking favorites, jk, I love it. Republic has been the best brunch spot by far---keep in mind, this is only stop number 3 for Brunch Club.
As soon as Republic started taking reservations I made one. Not only was it the easiest reservation, but they actually read the "notes" portion of the reservation letting them know we'd likely have more than 10 people. I am absolutely thrilled with the Chisholm Creek development, one specific reason being the mass amounts of parking. Can I get an amen?
Upon arriving to brunch our table was set and ready to go and there was plenty of wiggle room and space for gals to maneuver. Almost nothing bugs me more for a large party than having to squeeze in a freaking booth. This is definitely a concept designed by a man who obviously never has to pee. At Republic we were at a long table and all had our own seat that we could come and go from. Phew!
I ordered a Bloody Mary because I had a long day ahead of me and while I love champagne, I was in no position to take a Saturday cat nap. The drink was delivered promptly and they stayed on top of water refills the entire time.
The biggest hit at the table were Meme's Donuts---I described it as a funnel cake in a donut hole format. Basically the best damn donut you'll ever experience. I made the big statement that I will no longer go to the state fair to get a funnel cake because I have discovered Meme's Donuts. Thanks, Meme. The next big hit was the Hot Onion & Bacon Dip. For. The. Love. [insert drool on keyboard]. This is one of those foods that will make or break our friendship. Like, if you find some maniac way to dislike it, then we're done.
I ordered the Republic burger with a side of shoestring fries for my meal---all the yums. The burger comes with a fried egg, pretzel bun, arugula, caramelized onion-apple wood smoked bacon relish, bleu cheese, and gruyere cheese. I had more than half a burger to take home and plenty of fries. Don't tell my husband that I didn't intentionally order that for him to-go.
The reason Brunch Club began was to friendwork (very different than network) and get to know women who you normally wouldn't encounter. Towards the end of brunch we all got our checks and began heading out, but two of my gal pals were hitting it off. I'm not one to punctuate a good time with a period, I'm more of a "..." kind of girl, so we decided to stay and have a couple of brews. Our brunch that began at 11:00 ended at 3:00, which basically makes me a professional bruncher. I say this to let you know that there are literally no expectations at Brunch Club. Come, eat, drink (or don't), chat (or don't) and enjoy your time.
I have gotten asked what the sales pitch will be and if you know me you know I'm anti-pyramid schemes. This is literally something that is asking nothing of you but to enjoy your time with some local ladies.
Cheers to Republic and fun times with ladies of OKC,
April
