Brunch Club No. 5 was held at Mary Eddy's, which is in the 21C Hotel in downtown OKC. I wasn't sure if we'd be encountering hotel-style food, but I had heard good things.

The best feeling for my OCD soul is showing up to a restaurant and having our table prepared for the reservation that was made weeks ago. We showed up and the table was set and in the perfect spot.

I ordered a Bloody Mary, duh. Champagne makes me too sleepy--you should know this by now. It was tasty, nothing fancy. The coffee got good reviews and the service was on point. Everyone enjoyed their food, but I must say if you visit, I'd highly recommend ordering the loaded hashbrown appetizer. It comes with 12 good-sized hashbrowns for the table and they're flavorful and made my potato-lovin'-self so happy.

We also had two purple penguins placed at our table to eat with us...more the merrier! We were told the background story, but I'm going to shorten it: All 21c Hotels have penguins, but they're all different colors. They were originally introduced in order to provide company for individuals who may be eating alone. In our case, they provided entertainment, humor, and a good photo op.

The staff was personable, upbeat and engaging and the food was delicious. I'd give Mary Eddy's a try if you're planning a brunch. Also, the museum is FREE and the art was unlike what I've seen before. You really get a full day of fun out of this location.

Happy Brunching--- April
