BiBi's Craft Ice Cream

Ugh.

Despite my last couple of blogs, I really usually have positive experiences when I go out to eat. Unfortunately, I visited BiBi's twice now and both times have been pretty disastrous.

My first visit was a Monday afternoon. Nobody was at the establishment and we waited for what felt like eternity to order ice cream. Someone finally came over and there was mass confusion on what to do. They didn't know how to take the order, enter the order, or fulfill the order. BiBi's had their grand opening at the beginning of April, so while they are fairly new, I just don't have a lot of patience for ice cream misunderstandings.

There were three of us and here's what we ordered: Person 1 (We'll call him dad) - One scoop of chocolate with marshmallow topping in a cup Person 2 (We'll call her mom) - One scoop of Cookies & Cream with caramel and whipped cream in a cup Person 3 (Yours truly) - One scoop of rocky road in a waffle cone

As they're making the orders we're wide eyed at how difficult of a time the guy is having scooping the ice cream. It looked like a Crossfit workout, but more painful. My cone is served. It's good. I'm not like the biggest ice cream person ever, so I'm pretty neutral. I honestly can't tell the difference between BiBi's rocky road and Braum's. They tell "mom" they're out of whipped cream (what the actual hell?) so she opts for Ganache, but they're also out of that and she goes with raspberry. I'm just saying if I can keep whipped cream stocked at my house, so can a restaurant. Dad's ice cream gets scooped with the same un-washed scoop they used for mom's ice cream. Not a huge deal, but let's keep in mind people do have food allergies and the scoops should always have a fresh start before scooping and just for allowing me to keep my sanity. I don't know anything about food allergies, I keep trying to find one, but so far my body is v accepting of all food types. [insert me accepting gold medal at the Olympics]

The waffle cones are made in-house and are pretty tasty. That's my one compliment I can find from this.

After we left I got to thinking about how I just spent $17 on ice cream and I was very confused. 3 scoops of ice cream and 2 toppings. I'm no math whiz, but even I knew that price wasn't right. I looked at the receipt and noticed that we were charged $3.00 per topping (2 toppings). Toppings are 50 cents each, so I guess we got charged the Crossfit spectator fee. Anyway, I messaged the establishment on Instagram and was told a manager would be contacting me for my refund, still hasn't happened and it's been 7 days. I mean, I think I'll survive without the $6, but who really knows. Below are the messages between myself and the Marketing & Brand Manager (I removed all names because I've decided I'm not totally offended over ice cream...yet).

My next visit was on a busy Saturday night. Some of us decided to stop by and only one of us ordered because it was that horrifically slow. The line wasn't long, so don't get confused. There were two gentleman working and they said they only had one register to service orders coming from inside and out. Common sense tells me to narrow it down to one line, but I'm just an OCD teacher who manages children every day, what do I know? Like I was saying, the wait was insane so the other two with us were like "deuces, we'll stop at Braum's." Besides the turtle speed, they managed to mess up the order one of us placed. [insert dramatic WTH look]

Basically, do yourself a favor and go to Braum's or Roxy's or anywhere else for that matter. Hell, grab a McFlurry at McDonald's. Just spare yourself this from this madness.
